Time Travel

Just noticed that my last post is dated October 6th. Which is odd, since in the post I talked about what i did up until October 11th. Oooooooohhhoooohoooh (that's a spooky noise). So either I travelled back in time and wrote about what was going to happen in the future, which let's face it, is just plain cool, or else the date is messed up coz I continued a draft that I started on the 6th when I posted the thing sunday night. Feck it, I'm going with time travel.

Very Superstitious

Forgot to post this during the week so I'll give a quick sum up of the past week. Got attacked by a giant spider at work. Broke a mirror the same day. Well technically it only cracked along a line, does that still count as 7 years bad luck? Answers on a postcard please. Liverpool lost to Chelsea. My bad luck is the only explanation I can come up with. Went to Gorby's tuesday night. Turned out to be one of my favourite nights out of all time. Can't explain it. I was still buzzin the next mornin. Bouncin and dancin and singing all over my room. Just in great form really. I swear, someone should hide a camera in my room, it would provide some comedy gold.
Went out again thursday after a HR exam in the mornin which went okay i think, and then a day's shopping. I was carrying 4 bags while texting (yes I can multi-task) as I got on the bus home. Made a prat of myself coz I was hittin all the old people up the front in their faces with the bags. Where did I go that night you ask? Gorbys again of course. Vanessa loves the place more than me, I can't say no to her. It was jammers tho. Couldn't even move. Its been like that every thursday, it has to be sorted out. Left there about 1ish. After a quick visit to burger king I got a taxi home alone since Dorgan decided to cycle to town. Taxi driver was a lovely chap though. Had a good little chat.
Went up to Barry's house friday night since he's on his own for 3 weeks. Dorgan's parents drove us up. The house is on a steep hill in the middle of nowhere. It's pitch black with no street lights. The car stalled 3 times going up the hill and there was a car behind us. The clutch got destroyed. There was smoke coming out of the car. I was in stitches but I was tryin not to let his mom see me laugh. She was not amused. Ate a load of junk, so much for my new healthy living. Watched Knocked up on DVD. I fell asleep on the couch for a while during it. Damien smacked my head to wake me up, to which I replied with a backhand that bust open his lip. It was a complete accident. Funny though.
Went to my grandparents house saturday night for a joint birthday party for my nan and uncle. As the adults talked in the kitchen, the young people sat watching the Ireland game in the other room. I fell asleep on the couch. Notice a pattern? Why oh why could Ireland not just have stayed awake another 5 minutes and won the thing?
Sunday went by too quick for my liking. I appear to have done nothing. I watched both X Factor shows. Delighted that Olly, Joe and Stacey got through. Danyl and the twins annoy the hell out of me. Kandy Rain are no loss really.

So that's it. Toodles

A Washout

Thursday was a bit of a washout. I arrived at work at 5 and Adrian asked me to finish off a few boxes of the delivery since he was going on break. No problem at all. Along comes our fearless leader and demands to know what on earth I think I'm doing. Apparently helping to get work done is a big no no. I was sentenced to a night on the tills. I was informed that we had no tenners or twenties in the safe, only fives. It's a pity that everyone decided to pay for small items with €50 notes. So i spent the night counting out massive amounts of change in small bills. Speaking of giving change, I noticed a woman wasn't going away when I gave her her bag, she said I didn't give her any change. Now I distinctly remember taking it out of my till but I gave her the €6 anyway. (Low and behold, I checked the next day and my till was down €6. She must have been chancing her arm)

So from work I went to the Freshers Ball in Cubins. I'm not a fan of the place and they don't seem to like me either but amazingly I got in. We decided to have a look at the foam party. God only knows what they put in that foam. It must have been a combination of washing up liquid and toilet cleaner. Whatever it was, it made my nostrils burn. After an hour spent leaning against a wall, depressed at our surroundings, we went for one last bounce around on the dance floor. It was enjoyable until someone landed on my toe. I limped off to Hillbilly's (the quiet one).

It was there that I was introduced to hillbilly's "gravy" that I was told so much about. It looked more like mashed potato with gravy on top, it was so thick. My friend added a packet of salt to the mix. I don't know how she put it away. I could taste it by just looking at it. One drive home later, I conked out in bed.

Not the best thursday ever.

Facebook

Right, so what's the story with Facebook? I joined it about a month ago at this stage. I don't get the obsession. Honestly, it's a bit plain, and I don't seem to piss away as much time on it as I did on Bebo when it first magically appeared. At least it's a conversation topic.
"You on Facebook?"
"I am ya"
"Oh cool, add me there"
"Ok"
Exciting stuff. I still prefer Bebo, despite that I only use it to talk to 2 people. What can I say? I like the pretty colours.
I fully expect myself to go back on everything I just said at some stage and admit to loving Facebook. Just have to wait and see I suppose.

Work

I was workin for the entire weekend as usual. The place was dead. There's only so many times you can stroll around a store checking to see if anything's out of place. I ended up smashing some sort of fragile glass coffee gadget. It shouldn't have been near the edge in the first place. That's my excuse anyway, and I'm sticking to it. Got to leave an hour early then sunday evening. It's good that I got home early, but I think I'd rather have the extra €14 to be honest. Ah time and a half, the best thing since sliced bread.

Quarantine

I finally saw Quarantine on DVD last week. It came highly recommended from both my friend and my sister. Plus I knew the lead actress as Debra Morgan from the TV show Dexter. Judging from my sister's reaction, I was expecting to be hiding behind a pillow but that wasn't the case. It's the kind of "things jumping out at you" scary. And it's a bit gruesome and brutal at times. But I lost track of who was who, there was just too many people dying all over the place. It's worth a watch alright. I'm not the biggest fan of horror movies anyway, so I'll let you be the judge.
